"The Rikers" Continued

Of course, you've read the first part: First Fanfiction ("The Rikers")

Based on asides casually dropped by Jonathan Frakes and Marina Sirtis in an interview with the cast of Star Trek: The Next Generation at Comic-con on the occasion of their Thirtieth Anniversary, I present to you:

The Rikers

And now, part two of a teleplay...

Act One, Scene One

Deanna Riker, nee Troi, is setting at her desk. A Ferengi, dressed in Klingon battle armor, stands in the doorway.

Magos, the Ferengi who thinks she is a Klingon, sweeps through the open doorway.

Magos

Yes, you have mated with the human, William Riker, no? He served aboard a Bird of Prey, no?

Deanna

We're mostly retired. [BEAT] Can I help you?

Magos walks around to where Deanna is sitting, just as a young male Ferengi--also wearing Klinon battle armor--appears in the doorway. He is embarrassed and apologetic.

Magos

I am Magos of the Klingon High Command. I must see your mate, the human William Riker, at once. You will make this happen.

Bug, the young Ferengi, follows his mother into Deanna's office and tries to get Magos' attention. He is sheepish but insistent.

Bug

Mother! I fear our family honor is in jeopardy.

Magos

[TO DEANNA] One moment... [TO HER SON] What is it, my son?

Bug

We are here illegally. We are fugitives on this planet! The Klingon Embassy here on Earth has, um, outsourced all diplomatic processing to the Ferengi...

Magos

The Ferengi?

Bug

The Ferengi think there is profit in processing diplomatic visas, Mother. We must present ourselves to the Ferengi Embassy at once. [BEAT] But I'm told they will forward our credentials to the local Klingon Consul.

Magos

[SKEPTICAL] You mean the Ambassador.

Bug

Uh, of course. But you must hurry, as our paperwork--

Magos

Paperwork! There is no honor in paperwork. [SIGHS] But our family name will not be besmirched due to some diplomatic doggerel... [TO DEANNA] I will return to meet the human William Riker, shortly.

Deanna is speechless as Magos exits.

AND, SCENE.
